The San Elizario Independent School District is pleased to announce several significant changes to its administrative team following the recent approval by the Board of Trustees.
San Elizario, TX – The San Elizario Independent School District is pleased to announce several significant changes to its administrative team following the recent approval by the Board of Trustees. Superintendent Dr. Jeannie Meza-Chavez has recommended—and the Board has endorsed—the appointments and hires of seven distinguished educators and professionals to critical roles within the district, each bringing expertise and experience.
Valerie Chavez is one of two Assistant Principals named for San Elizario High School. She is an experienced administrator who has previously served as an instructional coach and managed grant funds. Ms. Chavez has a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies in Bilingual Education with a minor in Science and a Master of Education with a Minor in Dual Language.
Laura Silva was named the new Assistant Principal at San Elizario High School. She previously served as an instructional coach and has a Master’s in Education in Educational Leadership and a Bachelor’s in Behavioral Science.
Ms. Stephanie Ruiz will take on the role of Human Resources Coordinator. Ms. Ruiz’s expertise in HR and fostering a supportive work environment will be vital in managing the district’s human resources functions. Ms. Ruiz has a bachelor’s in human resources from Park University and experience in payroll accounts payable.
Ms. Leticia DeSantos has been named Administrator of Instructional Programs. She brings a wealth of experience in curriculum and instructional excellence and will be instrumental in overseeing and enhancing the district’s educational programs. Ms. DeSantos has a Master's in Education in Administration and a Master’s in Education in Reading, with endorsements in Bilingual Education and Early Childhood Education, and a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.
Ms. Monika Seelig Ruiz is the new Principal at Lorenzo G. Alarcon Elementary School. She was a former 2012 District Teacher of the Year for a neighboring district and has solid administrative experience. Ms. Ruiz has a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies and a Bachelor of Science with a minor in Education.
Ms. Gina Annette Ramirez is the new Executive Director of Human Resources. Her skillset will continue to lead the human resources team in providing the best service to all our employees. Ms. Ramirez is an experienced administrator with a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership, a Master of Arts—Instructional Specialist, and a Bachelor of Science—Biological Sciences.
Ms. Blanca Cruz has been appointed as the new Associate Superintendent. With her versatile leadership skills and commitment to student success, she is prepared to play a pivotal role in advancing the district’s mission and vision to improve student outcomes. Ms. Cruz has a Master’s in Accounting and a master’s in Professional Accounting and is pursuing a doctorate in Education in Organizational Leadership.
These appointments and hires are expected to bring fresh perspectives and renewed energy to San Elizario ISD, further supporting the district’s commitment to providing high-quality education and a positive working environment for all staff.
